| The Los Pescadores Fly Fishing Club Web Site is in the Process of a Huge Change |
Before March 1, Los Pescadores Fly Fishing Club will have a brand new web site. The new site will include its community partners, have a photo gallery, and have a store where 5 % of the profits that are made by LPFFC will go to support the programs for special needs students and vets.
There will be a log in for Member's Only information and there will be a forum link for postings. We are excited and anxious to show you all of the many features of the new site including having a merchant account linked to the membership application so people can join LPFFC on line. Existing members will be able to renew on line.
E-mails will go out as soon as the site is published.

December 2, 2009 Partnering in Our Community by Pam Scotty and Ken Dettelbach

Partnering in the community, Lexus of Santa Fe will host Los Pescadores Fly Fishing Club on two Saturday mornings a month during the winter season commencing January 16, 2010 at Lexus of Santa Fe. Supporting this program, the Land of Enchantment Guides will present free classes to the membership of LPFFC and their guests designed for both the neophyte and the more experienced fly fisher.
Included in the program are rigging, knot tying, entomology and casting instruction. This is a great opportunity for those who have the desire to learn how to fly fish and for those who want to brush up on their skills.
Los Pescadores Fly Fishing Club, www.lpffc.com, was shaped in January, 2008, to provide its members with access to secluded private waters in New Mexico and Colorado. In just a couple of years, over 250 members joined LPFFC and are now exploring new‐found horizons in their own backyard, discovering that fly fishing is whatever suits their current desire – a solitary excursion on a private stretch of the Pecos River, or a spring social trip to the San Juan River.
Members range from beginners enjoying their first guided fly fishing expeditions to experienced anglers joining club comrades on challenging fisheries. Bringing new fly fishers to the sport is key to LPFFC’s mission. LPFFC is a work in progress, striving to fulfill the goals and needs of its members.

In search to meet the needs of all levels of fly fishers, LPFFC sought out northern New Mexico and southern Colorado ranches and private venues, gaining access to waters ranging from tiny rivulets, to spring creeks, to high canyon rivers and lakes holding unbelievable fishing opportunities for wild native trout.
LPFFC has also reached out to the community developing fishing programs for Special Needs Students and Vets. Members of LPFFC volunteer to support this program in the separate nonprofit organization formed to meet these needs.
Many members also enjoy the social aspect of the Club attending planned socials along side of a river at one of its several secluded ranches, or as demonstrated last September with 115 in attendance at the Cow‐Boy Cookout on the high mesa at Bishop’s Lodge.

| Philmont Fly Fishing Invitational |
Philmont Scout Ranch hosted its 2009 Fly Fishing Invitational from September 10 through the 13. LPFFC members, Ken Dettelbach and Pam Scotty, were most fortunate to participate in this very special and unique opportunity. Staying at Fish Camp, the site of one of three original hunting and lishing lodges of Waite Phillips, they were surprised to find themselves staying in the well appointed rustic private accommodations of Waite Phillips.
Go to the side bar and click on Philmont 09 to see more photos of the outdoor adventure that Ken and Pam got to experience. The photos include the Aqua Fria and the Rayado Rivers that converge at Fish Camp. They report that the fishing was unbelievable.

July 26 (Sunday) FLY FISHING CLINIC FOR TIGER MUSKIES AT BLUEWATER LAKE
Muskies Inc. Chapter #59 of New Mexico has offered to conduct a special clinic on Bluewater Lake for LPFFC members. We will receive demonstrations on the necessary fly fishing techniques needed to catch tiger muskies, so this will be a bit different from a casting lesson, although casting and the flies that you will use will be included in this learning process. We will actually go out fishing for the tiger muskies. The charge is $40 per angler. This fee will go to the Muskies Inc Chapter #59 to help the New Mexico Game and Fish with the stocking program for Tiger Muskies. Bring lunch, water, waders, and a 8 or 9 foot rod, if you have one. E-mail pams@lpffc.com if you want to participate. You will be sent additional information and directions. This clinic is by reservation.

Exclusive Private Access to Infrequently Used Public Water on the Pecos River
LPFFC has private exclusive access to the Pecos River through private property in Pecos . This stretch of the river is infrequented by the general public due to the difficulty of access except through this private access. This location is only 20 minutes from the Old Pecos Trail Exit at I25.
Initial LPFFC Member Access: After you have gone out with either The Reel Life on a guiding trip, or with Ken or Pam, or with a LPFFC member that has already been oriented to the property, then you will be able to go out to the property on your own. This property is easy to find but you need to know where to park, where to go, knowledge of the location of gates and codes, property lines, and where to access the river. We need to be careful not to go on to others property. A release must be executed prior to going on to the property. Since this is a remote area, we urge the membership not to go out to fish this area alone. Bring a bud, please.
BOOKING PROCEDURE: LPFFC members are to book with Pam (505-699-0919 or ps.phidogroup@yahoo.com) in order to use this access. However, if you want to use a Reel Life guide, call the shop directly to make your guiding arrangements. There is a limit of four fly-fishers at a time on this stretch of the river.
